On-the-scene reporting from the Saipan Trubune:
The premier discotheque on island once again turned into a "Bird Cage" where a number of the CNMI's talented individuals gathered Aug. 30 to showcase their latest "fantabulous" outfits and talents.
The show was a "Drag"- no pun intended.
Dubbed as "Gayz Gone Wild," the show featured drag queen costumes in outlandish colors and sizes that mesmerized the guests during the show. Four local drag divas held a showdown of fashion and talents during the evening.
GIG's resident DJs-DJ Love and DJ Sly-hosted the event, sponsored by Jhem's Restaurant.
Lady Joanne, clad in colorful feathers and boas, captured the discriminating eyes of the judges, as she took home major awards that night.
Lady Joanne bagged the Best in Costume award and the first place for the talent showdown. Lady Joanne took home $150 dollars and an overnight stay with breakfast at the Hyatt Regency Saipan.
Lady Linda ranked second for the talent showdown, while Lady Barbara ranked third. Princess Sharmaine ranked fourth overall.
